This course will consider the history of Christianity from New Testament beginnings until about 800 CE. Church history will be studied within social, political, economic, and cultural contexts. Our overview moves from the Early Church, through their theological controversies and until the beginning of the Middle Ages. This course will be largely online, with weekly readings, assignments, and discussions. We will meet twice during the term, time and place to be arranged.
